As a Director Digital Analytics at adidas you drive the development of analytics capability within Digital. You will oversee the delivery of cutting-edge analytics services and products in the domain of our digital business. You ensure that data capabilities are being created and used to drive value. You will translate insights into actions that drive strategic and operational decisions and thereby shape business processes and consumer experiences. Your partnership with our business teams will be fundamental in driving actions that maximize sales and optimize the experience of present and future consumers and members.
- Key Responsibilities
Scope: Accountable for defined analytics practices area or platform
- Analytics
- Lead the development of a defined analytics practices, products, or services, measurement strategy and operating model.
- Understand and drive implementation and adoption of analytics solutions to address high level requirements from the business leadership.
- Initiate and drive projects in areas such as analytics implementation, database integration, marketing attribution, tag management, qualitative data, etc.
- Lead demand management for insights and delivery of analytics services within your area of responsibility.
- Recommend changes to digital strategy and other strategic factors to ensure that digital and brand marketing performance is improved, and predefined targets are achieved.
- Coordinate and supervise the application of the full set of reporting and advanced analysis methodologies to optimize customer acquisition, engagement, conversion, experience, and loyalty. This includes framing and prioritization of business needs, data exploration as well as descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive modeling, in coordination with the data science team.
- Oversee the generation of insights to increase the understanding of adidas consumers, exploring their affinities, intents, and lifecycle.
- Consulting
- Ensure that gathered insights are translated into engaging, actionable, and easy to digest insights.
- Establish a fact-based culture in the organization by defining data driven decision processes.
- Empower the business to use data with confidence and derive insights through upskilling.
- Educate key stakeholders on the value of data capabilities and hold them accountable on the use of them within their team and organization.
- Understand your stakeholders through feedback sessions to ensure deliverables are relevant to changing needs and expectations.
- Networking
- Build a strong internal and external network including key industry players, feeding latest trends and technological advances into the adidas Digital Analytics community.
- Bring current developments of the digital ecosystem (key trends in technologies, players, vendors, etc.) to team and projects.
- Establish and maintain a strong stakeholder network with high level of trust that facilitates action-ability of insights.
- Bridge with cross-functional departments to ensure flawless execution and seamless connection plans
- People Management
- Build the appropriate structure to be able to manage the respective organization effectively, identify and develop the future talents and create realistic succession scenarios for key positions.
- Ensure appropriate leadership skills are present at every level by creating a motivational and supportive work environment in which employees are coached, trained, and provided with career opportunities through development.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate team workload and organizational efficiency and team feedback and make appropriate changes to meet business needs.
- Provide team members/direct reports with clear direction and targets that are aligned with business needs and Digital objectives.
- If required: Product Ownership
- Manage the lifecycle of specific data products.
- Drive the evolution of the product backlog together with the product owners.
- Ensure that the product area iteratively delivers actionable insights and results valuable to the business and stakeholders, using appropriate agile techniques.

Profiel

- Education & Professional Experience
- University degree in the field of Statistics, Computer Science, Business, Communication, Marketing, Digital or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Data, Analytics, Consumer Research, or Data Science
- Extensive experience with digital marketing in a brand environment.
- Work experience in a Digital/eCommerce & App environment preferred
- 3+ years of experience in leading a team.
- Soft-Skills
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and a very high level of strategic thinking.
- Comfortable presenting complex topics to stakeholders at various organizational levels both in person and remotely
- Academic and professional deep understanding of an ever-changing digital landscape
- A passion for problem framing, designing data-driven business processes, and for delivering data-based recommendations, for quantifiable improvements in business results and consumer satisfaction.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, strategic, and influencing skills.
- Broad understanding of and passion for the sports and fashion/entertainment industry.
- State of the art presentation and organizational skills.
- Very good people management skills.
- Hard-Skills
- Hands-on experience with analytics, statistics, data visualization, and analytics tools (frontend and database technologies, SQL, R/Python, Google/Adobe Analytics or similar, AppsFlyer or similar, AWS/GCP or similar)
- Profound experience in relevant digital disciplines (eCom, Social, online communities, loyalty programs, CRM, SEO/SEM)
- Proficient in MS Office
- Experience in working with data science and engineering teams
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to lead several projects simultaneously, with tight timelines
- Experience in product management preferred, including Agile working methods
- Fluent written and spoken English language skills.
