Demand and Supply Management (DSM) serves as the Nike planning function combining insights and analytics to sense how much product consumers will want, where and when they'll want it. This offense combines work in the Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP) and Assortment Planning sub functions to support a more seamless and flexible approach to serve consumers and drive inventory efficiency for NIKE and our partners.
We're looking for an Assortment Planning Director for Men's Lifestyle to join our team!
In this role you will lead the team of Assortment Planners/Merchandise Financial Planner that is responsible for developing, executing and communicating the assortment planning strategy for the Men's Lifestyle business for EMEA in line with consumer demand and business objectives.
- Lead the assortment planning strategy for the Men's Lifestyle market in EMEA from top level targets to product level detail, and aligned to key brand stories, franchise strategies and retail/sports moments relevant to members
- Collaborate with Marketplace Unit teams to drive the right consumer demand plans, by communicating the seasonal assortment planning strategy and capturing consumer demand input and plans of Nike's own channels as well as marketplace partners.
- Deliver a meaningful perspective on risks & opportunities for both pre-season and in-season related to product
- Lead the team of Assortment Planners/Merchandise Financial Planner and develop the team's problem solving and critical thinking skills by actively mentoring planners.
- Embed retail planning fundamentals, foster a consistent assortment planning methodology across the team and nurture an end-to-end process improvement mentality.
- Design and optimally communicate the output of data science or other analytical models to less analytical partners/leaders to interact, explore, and make business decisions.
- Identify process and systems gaps and partner with Product Management, Technology, Data & Analytics and other x-functional teams to drive business results.
You will closely collaborate with x-functional partners as Merchandising, Finance and Analytics in the Men's team, for which you will part of the extended Men's Leadership team as well. Next to that, you will lead the network of Men's Lifestyle across the Marketplace Unit teams to communicate the Men's Lifestyle assortment planning strategy and understand consumer and customer input and plans.


- 8+ years of expertise in Consumer and/or Retail Merchandising/Assortment Planning, and/or Sales areas. Commercial understanding and Planning experience are important for this role.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and inspiring teams in complex and high demanding business contexts
- Excellent planning skills covering different business dimensions (consumer demand, retail business, financial, margin, inventory)
- Commercial & Entrepreneurial mind and forward thinking skillset to drive the results
- Strategic outlook and shown experience in leading projects and cross-functional teams, with a track record of overcoming obstacles and challenges to meet business expectations, as well as developing teams
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated capability to engage and network optimally with a broad range of audiences including senior business leaders, other senior planning leaders, both internal, as well as external with buying organisation of Partners. Covering both planning as well as commercial interests.
- Excellent knowledge of automated planning systems and reporting & MS Windows applications
