As a Legal Counsel, you will be a member of our Nike Legal team. This position is based at Nike's EMEA headquarters in Hilversum, The Netherlands. You will be responsible for supporting and handling the legal aspects of Nike's direct-to-consumer portfolio and its legal strategy, with a focus on the transformation of Nike Direct's partner management model in support of its Consumer Direct Acceleration.
In this role you will:
- Draft and negotiate commercial contracts supporting Nike Direct's partner management business in EMEA, including franchise agreements, agent/principal relationships, digital partnership deals, vendor agreements etc.
- Work closely with business leaders and teams on a variety of strategic initiatives across Nike Direct owned and partnered stores in EMEA, including online to offline services, digital products, experiences and services across Nike direct-to-consumer and Nike Stores Partner channels, helping them understand the relevant legal and regulatory frameworks, and building executable plans.
- Provide practical advice to business leaders on operational aspects and consumer protection legal matters (including pricing, warranties, advertising, terms and conditions etc.), and on how to ensure compliance with these legal requirements across various consumer-facing channels.
- Identify and address legal, privacy, competition and consumer regulatory issues in EMEA and work with the relevant CoEs to resolve these matters.
- Analyze potential legal and brand risks, and partner with relevant stakeholders to establish and implement solutions to mitigate those risks and achieve business objectives.
- Deploy and run outside legal counsel to ensure high-value, efficient representation.

- University degree in law, 7-10 years post qualification experience in a law firm or in-house experience in a consumer facing company or a retailer.
- Shown experience representing corporations in commercial transactions and general business law.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial and consumer protection laws in one or more countries in EMEA.
- Strong understanding of and interest in competition and privacy laws and the technology that supports digital products and commerce in one or more countries in EMEA.
- Highly effective communicator - written and oral.
- Standout colleague with ability and desire to work cross-functionally in a sophisticated organizational structure.
- Results driven; validated experience leading strategic projects with ability to work independently.
