The Regional Director, Ethics & Compliance, EMEA will be responsible to ensure effective compliance with specific laws and regulations in EMEA around various topics covered by NIKE's code of ethics (Inside The Lines) and other corporate policies, including but not limited to Anti-bribery and -Corruption, anti-Money laundering, Protection of Children of the minor age.
In your role you will support NIKE's Global compliance programs and lead and drive NIKE's Ethics & Compliance program in the EMEA region enabling NIKE, Inc. to protect its Brand, adhere to and meet its regulatory obligations and the essential legal requirements as it strives to grow in the region.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring business operations' compliance with local EMEA regulatory regimes regarding anti-bribery and fraud, and also new and emerging compliance topics such as regulations regarding Protection of Children of the minor age; develop strategies, allocate appropriate resources and initiate activities to support compliance in consultation with Global Sr. Director Ethics & Compliance
- Act as linking pin to the Global Ethics & Compliance team members while acting as Regional Lead of team of experienced compliance professionals and a virtual team of compliance like-minded NIKE colleagues
- Act as compliance officer for NIKE compliance programs in designated EMEA countries, such as but not limited to Italy and the UK
- Conduct risk assessments in consultation with Ethics & Compliance Controlling team members
- Provide strategic guidance to local teams regarding ABAC and Fraud compliance requirements in EMEA region
- Educate, aid and advise business and other teams on Nike, Inc.'s Inside The Lines code of conduct and other key corporate policies
- Monitor emerging and existing legislation in EMEA region and contribute to global tracking framework in partnership with Government & Public Affairs (GPA)
- Provide advice and direction on internal compliance issues in consultation with other compliance functions and the Global Sr. Director Ethics & Compliance
- Manage a variety of internal stakeholder relationships with EHQ based and country located teams and professionals, including but not limited to HR, Employee Relations, Finance, Sales and Marketing teams
- Manage outside counsel
- Aid and assist Global Sr Director Ethics & Compliance, on delivering regional insights to a strategic narrative around various compliance topics, including strategic plans and budgets
- Report on compliance issues and activities to senior management in EMEA region and to the Global Sr. Director, Ethics & Compliance
- Act as regional resource for Global Investigations support requests related to Compliance investigations, in connecting with ER and Security


- Bachelor/Master degree in addition to Juris Doctor, U.K. Legal Practice Course, or equivalent foreign law degree
- Qualified lawyer in a European jurisdiction
- At least 5-10 years' experience in and demonstrable expertise in international compliance laws and regulatory practices, investigations and litigations, covering a variety of countries in Europe in corporate and/or private practice setting with emphasis on following specialty areas: dispute resolution, litigation, administrative proceedings, compliance issues
- Fluent in spoken and written English. Additional languages desirable.
- Experience in assisting with developing company compliance strategies
- Strong influencing skills
- High degree & demonstrable collaborative capacity
- Experience in risk assessments
- Cross cultural work experience:
- Experienced and comfortable with in-person presentations/trainings to audiences at all levels
- Experience and/or training in cross-cultural communications
- Experience and desire to advise/coordinate a virtual team of compliance professionals working in disparate areas throughout the organization
- Informative and persuasive in routine and ad hoc communications
- Experience in (internal) stakeholder management and networking
- Project management experience
- Proficient with standard desktop tools including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Slack, Airtable, Cisco, Box.
