The Senior Project Manager, Payroll Operations will be responsible for partnering with key stakeholders to develop the strategy and key objectives for the project management team. The role will lead the team in creating best practices for payroll operations processes that will enable the organization to be more agile and provide bandwidth to support expansion into new countries and acquisitions of new businesses.

The role will be responsible for planning, developing, and ensuring timely delivery of the payroll operations team's projects and will partner with the Senior Manager Payroll Operations, Compensation and Benefits, and Human Resources on new initiatives and process improvement opportunities.

The Senior Project Manager, Payroll Operations will ensure the timely and accurate execution of the identified payroll projects and initiatives and implement necessary controls to ensure all deadlines are met and company policies and procedures are followed. They will manage escalated payroll issues and special projects assigned to the team and partner with payroll stakeholders and various internal departments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management to the Payroll Project team, including goal setting, performance assessment, counselling and ongoing training and development
  • Leads PMO by Managing portfolio and roadmap of Regional/Country payroll projects/initiatives
  • Act as strategic partner, who monitors and anticipates on changes that impact both the payroll and business needs and requirements. Continuous assessment of payroll related process improvement opportunities
  • Effectively tracks and communicates project status to upper management
  • Leads the conversation and negotiates with different internal and external payroll partners and stakeholders
  • Conducts Risk Assessments on projects/initiatives assigned, applying a creative thinking to solve problems
  • Develops and manages Payroll specific initiatives throughout the year, contributing to the success of the payroll operations
  • On a day-to-day basis, collaborates with Payroll Process Manager, Payroll Operations Managers and Payroll Coordinators

Profiel

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of payroll experience, including leadership experience.

  • Having gained a high level of functional knowledge, knowledge of international and industry standards

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence internal/external parties. Clear and effective communications skills. Team player with service-oriented attitude

  • Clear understanding of Project Management Methodologies

  • Strong analytical skills to understand evolving key business requirements

  • Creative mindset applied to solve problems

  • Natural awareness of change management challenge and comfort in addressing those issues with concrete tactical actions

  • Fluency in English both written and verbal is required; the knowledge of other European languages is a strong asset

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Energetic, initiative and service oriented

  • Excellent internal communication skills for partnering with other departments in the organization such as HR and other Finance departments
